Yesterday, in my studio, something special happened. Monsieur Yvon met the newly born little baby, Mademoiselle Dollie! He assisted me into creating her little garments, and told me the right fabrics for her.
He decided she wanted little foxes, and owls , and little hedgehogs and tiny pink mushrooms. So I set up to make the little lady the cutest little rompers. Then, Yvon told me since winter's still there till the end of the month, and the weather outside's still rather cold and rainy, she would need a nice little cocoon to snuggle in. That's alright, Monsieur Yvon! This time I chose the whitest linen fabric I had in my cupboard to make the little nest. I let an little opening at the front for her to pop out her tiny face. I know a little Dollie who feels really comfy!
"I love embroidery and pretty tiny details", her mama told me. So I chose some vintage pink striped fabrics and sketched a nice little girl. I then added a tiny dress shape and embroidered the contours. Some colour touches I then outlined with a big heart shaped balloon, and sewed on the cutest tiny felt teddy bear in the little girl's hand.
I love this technique of mixing appliqué and embroidery. I often used it on my dolls' clothes.
I also give you some news of Monsieur Yvon who hasn't found his home during the last dollectable. If you are interested in visiting him, or giving him his chance, he's now visible in my etsy shop -link below- .
